Banana plots, a rice paddy and a carving workshop, on foot.

Mto wa Mbu sits at the foot of the escarpment below Lake Manyara and is one of the few places in Tanzania where people from most of the country's language groups live in the same town. The walk takes in the irrigated banana plots, a rice paddy, a Makonde carving workshop and usually a banana beer still. Half a day, on foot and by bicycle if you want.
