Lake Eyasi - Hadzabe & Datoga cultural day

Out at dawn with Hadzabe hunters, then the Datoga blacksmiths.

The Hadzabe are one of the last hunter-gatherer peoples in East Africa and speak a click language unrelated to anything around them. You go out at dawn, which is when they hunt, and you walk with them rather than watch. The Datoga are the neighbouring pastoralists and blacksmiths, and the same day usually takes in a forge where arrowheads are made from scrap. It is an early start from Karatu and it is not a performance.
